Welcome,
MADD Ottawa is pleased to present our fifth annual MADD DASH/Strides for Change public awareness/fundraising event, taking place Sunday October 14th, 2012. A 10KM and 5KM run and a 5KM walk in support of the fight against impaired driving. Every step taken and pledge collected will help raise much needed funds and heighten awareness of MADD Ottawa's vital programs and services.
Every day, on average, 4 Canadians are killed and 190 are injured in impairment-related crashes. We estimate between 1,350 and 1,600 people are killed and more than 68,500 are injured each year in Canada in impairment-related crashes.
MADD Ottawa has a proven track record of keeping our roadways safer and saving lives. The funds raised will be put to good use in local MADD Ottawa educational and support programs and assist us in our mission "to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime".
